BIK Park Sosnowiec II is now BREEAM-certified
BIK Park Sosnowiec II has successfully passed the BREEAM certification at the “Very Good” level. Last year, BIK Park Wrocław I and II - two other properties from the portfolio of Biuro Inwestycji Kapitałowych (BIK) S.A. - went through the same assessment process. BIK S.A. was advised on the BREEAM certification by global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield - the property manager for the building. The certification was conducted by WSP Polska Sp. z o.o., assisted by the local team of Logicenters, which is committed to making its entire property portfolio carbon-neutral by 2028.
Our strategy is to continually improve the standard of our warehouses and reduce their environmental impact. This also applies to standing properties such as building 5 of BIK Park Sosnowiec II, which was completed in 2018,”
-says Tomasz Pieprzyca, Senior Project Manager, Biuro Inwestycji Kapitałowych S.A.
BIK Park Sosnowiec II provides nearly 12,000 sq m of leasable space. It boasts a prime location in the immediate vicinity of the interchange of the A4 motorway, which connects Rzeszów to Poland’s western border, and the S1 expressway (Silesia’s eastern ring road), which runs through Cieszyn to southern Europe.
As part of the certification process, the warehouse was equipped with a modern remote electricity meter reading system for individual groups of electrical loads (cooling, lighting, etc.) that will allow for effective management of utility consumption and will subsequently help reduce costs.
As green certification of warehouse facilities is a market requirement, developers and owners of all asset classes need to take concrete action to achieve ambitious ESG goals. Commercial buildings that meet strict environmental and social standards are also likely to experience strong property values and see their competitive advantage grow. In addition, many solutions that are implemented in properties in order to obtain a green certificate generate meaningful savings for landlords and tenants. For example, a smart system for utilities consumption monitoring has been installed at BIK Park Sosnowiec II to adjust, for instance, electricity distribution to the actual requirements of building users,”
-explains Paweł Kostrzewa, Senior Portfolio Manager, Cushman & Wakefield.
Biuro Inwestycji Kapitałowych is a Polish logistics developer owned by investment fund NREP NSF IV and supervised by Logicenters - the logistics platform of NREP.
