The Warsaw office of global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield has been awarded WELL Certification at the GOLD level by International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). WELL is the premier space standard focusing on the health, comfort and wellbeing of building users.
The WELL certificate awarded to the Warsaw office of Cushman & Wakefield is confirmation that we prioritise our employees’ health and wellbeing. We are extremely proud to be joining the ranks of companies having offices in the most recognised and prestigious locations – we continue to roll out new amenities and go the extra mile to provide an optimal working environment to make our office safe, user-friendly and comfortable,
comments Krzysztof Misiak, MRICS, Executive Partner, Head of Poland.
The certification procedure was closely aligned with the design process of our new office in Warsaw. We had to take into account WELL requirements in the run-up to the signing of our lease. The next step was to design space – this called for special attention due to very strict certification requirements. During the office construction and fit-out process we had to double check each element of the design. We introduced new HR policies and administrative procedures which - coupled with the new fit-out - helped us create a comfortable working environment. It took us a few years to complete the project but we are confident that it was worth the effort as we have together built a place where you want to be,
says Mariola Bitner, Head of Workplace Strategy Poland, Cushman & Wakefield.
We have fully embraced a holistic approach to employees and WELL certification is confirmation that we have taken action to put it into practice. We listen to the needs of our employees attentively and with interest while focusing on their physical and mental wellbeing. I am delighted that together we are creating a working environment that has a positive effect on our employees’ health, wellbeing and productivity,
comments Magdalena Szczygieł, HR Business Partner, Human Resources, Cushman & Wakefield.
In designing our new office, we wanted it to be, above-all, employee-friendly; that’s why we were keen to create an office that is distraction-free and has a positive effect on its users. We have ensured acoustic comfort in our office space to keep external noise levels down. Out of concern for the wellbeing of our employees, we have also provided thermal comfort and appropriate lighting,
says Joanna Buczkowska, Head of Administration, Cushman & Wakefield.
We led the certification process by coordinating the work of the entire team and provided the assistance of a WELL Accredited Professional. We participated and assisted in developing WELL-compliant policies and procedures; we reviewed proposed solutions and discussed the best possible approach to individual certification requirements with the project team and the client; we assisted IWBI’s WELL assessor during the measurements and final audit, explained delivered documents and maintained communication with IWBI,
says Ewa Kowalska-Ocneanu, Chief Sustainability Officer, WSP.
